How many protein molecules do we have in our cells?

Web update:  Former HFSP Long-Term Fellow, Christine Vogel, developed important experimental and theoretical approaches to investigating the myriads of proteins in the cell. Following a productive and successful period in the laboratory of her HFSP host, Edward Marcotte, she has been appointed Assistant Professor at New York University, where she is applying a key, highly cited method that she co-developed to different biological questions that revolve around the regulation of cellular protein production. Here, she describes the work performed during her HFSP-funded postdoc and its future perspectives in her new faculty position.
