Signaling Nanoplatforms Symposium

HFSP Grant awardees Maria Garcia-Parajo, Alessandra Cambi, Diane Lidke are co-organizers of the ICREA international symposium “Visualizing signaling nanoplatforms at a higher spatiotemporal resolution”. The meeting will take place from 29 to 31 May 2013 at the Institute of Photonic Sciences, Castelldefels, Barcelona (Spain).

The conference on the imaging of cell membranes at a high resolution will bring together a group of world-leading scientists covering different methodological approaches to discuss fundamental molecular mechanisms that govern nanostructures and protein function relationships at the cell membrane. The symposium will cover topics related to the organization of the plasma membrane at the nanoscale, the role of proteins and lipids in signal transduction, and the cortical actin cytoskeleton in organizing and stabilizing membrane domains as well as influencing membrane architecture and signal transduction. A special emphasis will be placed on the technologies that are enabling the visualization of membrane nanodomains at unprecedented spatiotemporal resolution.

The deadline for abstract submission is 17 February 2013 and the registration deadline is on 30 March 2013. Attendance is limited to 150 participants. For more details about program and venue please visit www.icrea-signano2013.com.
