The 7th HFSP Awardees Meeting was held at the Twin Waters Resort on Queensland's Sunshine Coast in Australia. This was the first meeting to be held in the southern hemisphere and followed Australia's appointment as a member country in 2004. The meeting featured 25 talks and 98 poster presentations from HFSP awardees and it was the first time that the traditional thematic organisation of talks was replaced by mixing themes and disciplines within the scientific sessions.
