Lisbon, Portugal - 2017

The 17th HFSP Awardees Meeting was held in Lisbon, Portugal from the 9 - 12 July, 2017

The 17th Awardees Meeting took place in the spectacular setting of the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown in Lisbon, Portugal. The meeting was preceded by a special workshop on The Physics of Living Matter for Tomorrow, which aimed to bring physics and biology together by focusing on research and training for physics in the life sciences and physical approaches in biology.

The Awardees Meetings was attended by 209 participants including HFSP Long-Term and Cross-Disciplinary Fellows, Young Investigator and Program Grant holders and Career Development Awardees. This year there were 29 oral presentations and 33 three-minute 'poster teaser' talks which preceded the poster sessions. 103 posters were presented during the poster sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

We are grateful to the Champalimaud Foundation for their welcome and assistance. As in previous years, meeting delegates very much appreciated the social programme, which included a reception at the Estufa Real, the 18th century restaurant in the Ajuda Botanical Gardens offering splendid views over the River Tagus.
