Craig Cary was a microbial biologist who carried out much of his career studying microorganisms in the world's most harsh environments, including deep-sea thermal vents or Antarctic landscapes. He was a team member in a 2021 HFSP Research Grant (Darwin rwinDa: rewinding and rerunning evolution to study innovation in action), collaborating with colleagues from Imperial College London, the Dept. of Biophysics and Bioengineering in Montpellier, France, and the Max-Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology in Marburg, Germany.
The HFSP community will miss Craig.
