HFSPO welcomes two new members to the Board of Trustees

Henriette van Eijl and Seong Gyu Kim have been appointed as representatives of the European Commission and the Republic of Korea respectively on the HFSPO Board of Trustees.

The International Human Frontier Science Program Organization (HFSPO) is governed by the Board of Trustees composed of appointees from HFSPO Members, currently Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America, and the European Commission.

H van EijlHenriette van Eijl leads the Economic and Social Transitions unit in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. She supports the coordination and implementation of the EU’s research programs in health, social sciences & humanities, culture, and democracy. S-G Kim

Seong Gyu Kim is the Director General of the International Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea. He brings years of experience in planning and coordination of a broad research portfolio to HFSPO. 

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall policy concerning the conduct, management, and operation of the Human Frontier Science Program. The aim of the Human Frontier Science Program is to encourage ambitious interdisciplinary basic research. Emphasis is placed on novel collaborations that bring together life scientists and scientists from disciplines such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science and engineering to address questions at the frontier of the life sciences.
