Research award for HFSP fellow

Congratulations to HFSP fellow Gisa Gerold on receiving the 2017 Robert Koch Postdoctoral Award for Virology.

Prior to becoming an HFSP fellow, Gisa Gerold studied for her PhD at the Humboldt University of Berlin, working with Arturo Zychlinsky at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology. In 2009, she received an HFSP Long-Term Fellowship and went to work with Charles Rice in the Laboratory of Virology and Infectious Diseases at Rockefeller University in New York. After returning to Germany in 2012, she started her research group in the Department for Experimental Virology at TWINCORE in Hanover.
