Secretary-General, Professor Pavel Kabat of The International Human Frontier Science Program Organization (HFSPO) met with Mayor and President of Eurometropole de Strasbourg, Catherine Trautmann, for a fruitful exchange on HFSPO’s longstanding relationship with its host city and the region. Mayor Trautmann, who played a key role in bringing the HFSPO Secretariat to Strasbourg in 1989, reaffirmed the strong support of the City of Strasbourg and the Eurométropole for the Organization and its unique model of international collaboration in frontier life science.
The discussion explored opportunities for working together to strengthen these already close ties further. First ideas were exchanged for high-level events in June 2027 marking 40 years since the concept of HFSPO was approved at the G7 Summit in Venice, following a proposal by former Prime Minister of Japan, Yasuhiro Nakasone.
